I understand it’s been set at 50% of its capability which in our neighbourhood has left streets considerably less lit than previously and arguably, for a variety of reasons, dangerously so. Over 2 weeks I have rung WCC twice to request an improvement and appears little change. Have others had any success?

This cone was found blocking one of the wastewater pump stations in Porirua's CBD last week.

Not too sure how it got there... But our team managed to clear it from the pump station before any major damage was done. ?

In the past we've also found a pair of jeans, shampoo bottles, kids (and adults) toys, money, cellphones, pagers, and A LOT of wetwipes!

This has to be one of the toughest decisions that I had to make but it goes with my heart 💚 & soul in everything I do nor say with a voice.

I decided with my best interest to step down as In Charge Neighbourhood Support person for Miranda Street and Warspite Ave (not the whole street as it is too long) Residents in Neighbourhood Support Area since 2004 (same year when I first joined Porirua Community Guardians).

It has been fun and great to know all the family friendly neighbours within the Neighbourhood.

There has been so funny and serious memorable minties moments that has been happening within the Neighbourhood.

This has to be one of the True Story Incidents that I won't forget and it happened in 2006:

* Everyone in the family went to sleep early except me as I was still up late as usual and went outside of the house for a bit of fresh air.
I noticed a vehicle speeding through Miranda Street and then went back inside the house, also no sooner or later I noticed a vehicle was parked outside on the Family property.

Yes there goes me (Sala) of course saying to myself:

"I'm going to check you out"!

So I opened the front door and locked & secured.

I walked slowly as a snail towards the vehicle and approached it, also noticed a male driver had window already half way down including that there was a child sitting at the back seat.

I said to a male driver:

"Are you lost"?

Male Driver replied back to me:

"No, sorry I got the wrong home address".

Then he drove off.

So I went back inside the house to open up the front door with a key.

I sat down inside the lounge in complete darkness and of course I can see with Google Night Vision on lol 😁😂

All of sudden a Police vehicle turned up down the family driveway and here me goes thinking....."Sala, what have you done"? Yeah Nah Jokes lol 😁😂

2 Police Officers knocked on the front door and I answered it, guess what?

They were looking for the vehicle that was speeding through Miranda Street and I told them about a vehicle that was parked outside on the family property.

Yes it is the same vehicle and no doubt a male driver was lying to me of course including that he was hiding from the Police.

I just found out later on from another anonymous neighbour in Miranda Street that the Police did catch him in the end.

I can end this Incident True Story with a song "Oh what a night".....by Four Seasons lol 😁😂

But before I signed out my resignation and please do not hesitate to contact Kelsey Scarr - Community Advisor for Neighbourhood Support NZ Incorporated on:

* Please Note:

I will always carry on to do good things within the COMMUNITY ❤️

Goodbye and Thank You All For Your Time.

Kind Regards
Sala
