Community Engagement Advisor from Metlink: On Our Way

In accordance with Central Government advice, for the health and safety of staff and passengers, all Metlink bus drivers aged 70+ will not be part of operating our transport network at this time.

About 70 of Metlink’s 500 bus drivers are aged 70 or over and in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines, they are advised to remain at home. Less drivers means there will need to be cancellations to some services across the bus network.

We are currently looking at where cancellations will need to take place and are encouraging Metlink customers to keep up to date with service changes by checking Metlink’s website, App and Real Time Information screens.

Aramex Overwhelmed

Caryl from Seatoun

On the 20th a package of perishables was scanned as having left Whangarei for Wellington. Today (26th) I got an update saying it would be another 5-7 working days. The depots are overwhelmed. Wonder what sorting strategies they use? Have they employed more sorters and drivers? And our lovely, courteous Seatoun driver was delivering last Sunday, bless him.

Joshua from Price Smart Landscaping and Gardening

Do you have a slope in your garden that keeps slipping, but don’t want trees on your bank? Retaining walls help to prevent soil erosion, while also offering you a level ground to plant on. If this sounds like a bit of you, look no further than Price Smart Gardening and Landscaping!

Sludge trucking operation comes to an end

Simone Borgstede from Wellington City Council

Wellington Water have successfully tested the first liner in the Mt Albert sludge pipes – which means the sludge trucking operation has come to an end.
There will be the odd truck passing through over the coming week or so as the sludge tanks at Moa Point are cleared, but the 24/7 operation is over.
