Just an update that I missed out on the property I was keen on. I have enquired about another but there aren't many places that allow cats so for now I am staying put! Will still keep everyone in mind though as you never know what may happen :).
Thank you all again for your time and interest,
Firstly this is currently just a "what if" situation.
I am currently considering moving back to Hawkes Bay. If I find a place it would mean breaking my lease early. I will need to double check about subletting my unit but from what I recall, I would need to pay for rental listing fees and continue paying my rent until my property managers find a replacement.
I just thought that maybe I could find a way around this by possibly finding a single person or couple early without having to pay these hefty listing fees/pay double rent.
Is anyone here currently looking for a rental close to the city but far enough away for some peace and quiet :). Or do you know someone who is?
I have lived in this lovely one bedroom unit in Northland village for 5.5 years. My only reason for wanting to move is that I would like to live closer to my family.
There is a wee room next to the living room which I call the sun room. Right now I use it as my office space but you could also fit a small guest bed if you wanted to. The bonus about living here is that cats are allowed! They have a lovely hill to explore and I installed a cat door when I moved in so that's handy :).
I will be visiting Hawkes Bay this weekend and hope to view a rental then. I will know more after this weekend just thought I would see if there may be any takers ahead of time! It may well be that I will still need to get it listed the official way but it can't hurt to try different avenues 😉. I will wait with posting photos until I have my property managers permission to do so.

Hi all, a friend of mine has a beloved cat that is on “cage arrest” for the next month due to surgery not being possible to fix a fractured leg. While they were at the vet they noticed her cage was stuffed full with catnip and when questioned the reply was that it was a great natural pain relief.
This cat is a trooper but we can all see she is still struggling from time to time so I’m writing in hope someone may be growing catnip or even have a few seeds that we can plant ourselves.
I personally would be more than happy to provide finance for anything that could be given but of course donations will be welcomed with open arms.
