Studying in the Pōkaitahi Reo programme has allowed me to develop a totally beautiful and unique relationship with Māori communities in Auckland. The learning has helped my work to bridge gaps between Māori and others in our multicultural communities. When I look back, I feel really proud. It’s a great feeling when I speak te reo Māori. It’s a privilege.”

If you're considering selling, get online and check out what’s happening in real estate in your local area, using resources like TradeMe and Real Estate NZ.

You can also contact a local, experienced agent to get a specific appraisal for your home.

If you want to sell your home FAST, you need to get clear on what your likely selling price needs to be.

Be sure to compare apples with apples though, as the 6 bed, 4 bathroom home on acreage is almost certainly going to be listed at a different price to the 3 bed, 1 bathroom cottage on a 350m2 section.

Understanding the local market is critical to setting a competitive price for your home.

This issue is packed with good reads and amazing offers from our friends and partners. We take a close look at urban farmer Freeman Farms, and visit an Auckland coastal garden that the owner waited three long decades to create as well as a Dunedin garden where they’ve grown flowers for nearly 50 years. We're still on the hunt for our Houseplant Hero, thanks to our friends at Yates and Kings Plant Barn. Nominations are now open for our 2020 Ryman Healthcare Gardener of the Year too! There’s a feature on walnut growers in NZ, highlights of new roses coming out this year and of course, details on how to get yourself $20 worth of free bulbs from NZ Bulbs.
