Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has noticed someone in ham east (I'm on Sillary Street) riding around on a bike at around this time 9pm. I live up a shared driveway and I can hear someone come up on their bike, stall, and then leave again. Both nights I have had my curtains open so they would have seen me, but I couldn't see them as they didnt come up far enough to set off the security lights and it's been too dark out.

I would have gone out but it's just me and my young son and was a bit scared of what I would find.

I will talk to my neighbour tomorrow and see if they have heard them, but I'm thinking I should report it to the police as suspicious behaviour. Only problem is I can't give them anything to describe them.

Ibanez's death brings a little change

An verbal apology was given for no evidence taken other than a photo of our dead companion. Susan agreed that swabs should have been taken. AC in Auckland do DNA swabs and have sent down a thick booklet on forensics. Our local AC also has the help of a retired police officer to train our local AC officers. There is no legislation requiring all AC to do forensics one of our politicians tried but failed. Hamilton AC is voluntarily adopting forensics and will be training staff to take swabs.
For those of you who complained about ringing during after hours and told "catch the dog we will pick up tomorrow/Monday" are being told this by call center people NOT AC people and according to Susan we should not be hearing this. AC should be sent out to pick up all roaming animals at all times of the day/night. Susan is looking into this.
Paper copies of all my posts regarding Ibanez with all your replies (minus your names) have been given to Susan to peruse at her leisure, 17 pages in total.
Councillor Sarah has helped organised this meeting and will talk with council about making changes from their end eg: staff numbers and funding because DNA testing costs up to $2000 each time.
If you see roaming dogs please report to AC. If your loved pet is attacked at home by dogs ring AC before one hour has passed. If you see an attack keep attackers in sight and ring AC 07 838 6632.
My thanks to you all.

Geoff and Sarah have been informed of our horror night/morning (29.30/12/2019) where Two dogs roamed and mauled Four fur babies. Both are pet owners and would have liked better results for the families of the cats.
Ibanez is still missed and familiar noises are still heard, his gravestone is under the trees, one of his many watch possies. He is only one of many animals, not just cats but rabbits, gineua pigs and even lambs that get attacked and no justice. All animals should have the right to be on their own property and not attacked. Animal control should collect evidence but they don't. If you have a suggestion on how improvements can be made then please go ahead only comments will be forwarded no names. If you think otherwise then let us know too.
I know where the dogs are. There is no gate and dog is visible from road. Animal Control have said no dogs live there. The dog that lives at this place barks at everything even if you stand across the road. The night Ibanez was attacked and killed there was no barking.
