A treasured and special Dad of Larissa, Regan and a close friend of Daniel. Much loved son-in-law of John and Edith MacGregor. A much loved brother-in-law and uncle to Andrew and Fiona, and Callum.

LARSON, Roger John

Past secretary of The Nelson Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow), captain Royal NZ Army Service Corps, awarded for efficiency, decoration for 12 years service by the Governor General 1972. Died peacefully at Nelson Tasman Hospice on Tuesday, April 17, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Patsy. Dearly loved father and stepfather of Trudy and Glen, Simone, Danielle and Marianne and their husbands and partners. Adored Granddad of McKenzie, Riley, Samantha, Leah, Paige, Saskia and Cameron, and great-granddad to Riley and Dylan in Perth Australia, and wee Mason. Our love and humble gratitude to our friends who have been such a huge support at this time, to Danielle and Bevan who prepared the house and garden for Roger's farewell and to Maya for her very special poem and playing ‘Lark in the Clear Air' so beautifully on violin to Roger when we brought him home. To Jeff and staff of Simplicity Funerals, thank you for your care and compassion to Roger enabling us to give him the farewell he wished. Our utmost gratitude to the medical staff of the Nelson Hospital, especially to the doctors and nurses of the ICU (James, Lizzy, Roz, Susan, Tess, Lisa, Rupert, Chris, Adrian, Alistair, Nicky, Anna, Racheal and others) for their kindness to Roger and our family and their dedicated attention to his every need and comfort. Thank you to the staff in ward 10. Our very special thank you to the wonderful nurses, doctors and Pastor of the Nelson Hospice (Juliette, Gabrielle, Paulo, Ally, Jen, Jeanine, Sandie, Claire, Brenda and David) who continued to enable Roger to die peacefully without pain. Thank you to the ambulance staff for their gentle care transporting Roger to the Hospice. To Liz Scott, Roger's and our family doctor for many years, who has gone above and beyond. Liz we love you. We could not have asked for more. As with Roger's wishes his farewell was held at home with family and close friends on Thursday. Any donations to the Nelson Tasman Hospice would be hugely appreciated. We never know how much we need them until the time comes.

Of Palmerston North, on Saturday 21 April 2018, unexpectedly but peacefully at the age of 93 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Josephine (Josie). Much loved and admired precious Dad of Judith (Ju Ju) and his dearest son Michael (Mike), and wife Wendy. Grandad of Nichola and Daniel, and great-Grandad of Dylan. Loving brother of the late Audrey Read (Auckland), and respected Uncle of Peter Read (Auckland). Loved dad of his special cats Puss Puss and the late Suzy and Lilly. Special thanks to all the staff at Summerset for their care of Dad, also to Dr Larry Loo for his help and advice over the many years.

Aged 87, her Journey ended peacefully at Palm Grove Retirement Village on April 20, 2018. A much loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and friend to so many. Joyce devoted her life to the care of her family and we cherish every moment spent with her. Peacefully at Taranaki Base Hospital on Monday, 23 April 2018, aged 71 years. Reunited with his loving wife Anne. Cherished father and father-in-law of Greg (Ozy) & Kim, and Arron & Steven. Loved brother of Jeanette & the late Bob, special uncle to his nieces and nephews. Ian’s family are eternally grateful for the empathy and compassion he received whilst under the care of the staff in Ward 3A. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Ian’s life to be held at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, 174 Lemon Street, New Plymouth, on Thursday, 26 April 2018, at 1.00pm.
