On 11th August 2019, John passed away peacefully at Stillwater Gardens, Nelson, in his 95th year. Loving father of Eddie, Opa to Stephanie and Christian, Andrew and Tara, and Great-Opa to Caetano, Oscar, Mila, Ollie, Daisy, Ellie, and Isla.
You will be sadly missed.

SEDDON, Philip A (Phil)

Died peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2019, aged 87. Much loved husband of Alice. Adored father of Rebecca and the late Richard Seddon. Cherished grandfather of Petra, Toby and Zara. Loved by Nicola, Tim, David, Grant, Alice, Evan, Declan, Caelan and Carolyn. Fond memories with Sue, Jean and John. A friend, civil engineering colleague and fellow parishioner to many. Gratitude to staff at Burlington and Alpine View Care Centres for their exceptional kindness and care. On August 12, 2019, at McKenzie HealthCare, Geraldine, in her 84th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Ike. Loved mother and mother-in-law of the late Sandra, and Graeme McDonald, Sharon and Jack Rate, Shane and Neroli; Geordie and Sylvia, Michael and Bridget. Loved Grandma of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service for Myrtle will be held at Geraldine Funeral Services, 186 Talbot Street, Geraldine, on Friday, August 16, at 12 noon, thereafter to the Woodbury Cemetery. Peacefully at Strathallan Life Care on August 12, 2019, aged 94 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Brenda for 65 years. Dearly loved dad and father-in-law of Peter and Lineni (Perth), Linda and Les McCracken (Ashburton), and Barbara and Kevin O’Connell (Timaru). Brother of the late Graeme, and Robin Taylor. Loved grandpa of Ellen Hiscock, Scott and Guy McCracken; Monique Topham and Catherine O’Connell. Loved great-grandpa of Zara, Lachlan, and Xander; Jonah, Liam and Max. The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff at Strathallan Life Care for their wonderful care of Murray over the past two years. A service celebrating the life of Murray will be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel, 160 Mountain View Road, Timaru, on Friday, August 16, at 2.00pm. (Of Kaiapoi) On August 7, 2019. Dearly loved wife of the late Dick. Loved mother and mother-in-law of David, Gavin (Bob) and Vicki, Barbara and Jim, Jim and Kathy, Sharon, and Paul. Dearly loved Nana and Great-Nana to her many grandchildren. Betty was a loved sister, sister-in-law, and aunty. Special thanks to the staff of Ward 24 Christchurch Hospital. PACKER, Edward Augustine (Ted)

Aged 86; adored father of Gray and partner Sue. Our big man with an equally big heart has left us. He touched many people during his life journey and we remember fondly the professionals helping manage his health in later years. Spring flowers were a favourite of Ted’s so feel free to adorn the casket with your’s from home or otherwise. Our service is to share his stories so we encourage anyone to speak and participate in that. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Saturday, August 17, at 1.00pm. Of Blakeley’s Of Kaiapoi. On August 7, 2019, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Valmai, loved and loving father and father-in-law of Grant, Suzanne and Andy, and Christine and Dave. Loved and treasured grandad of Abby, Josh, Lauren and Taylah, loved brother and brother-in-law of Ross (deceased) and Joy, and a loved uncle to his nieces. MAGYAR, Sàndor (Sandy)

Sàndor was born 29 January 1936, in Dunakiliti, Hungary. He was married to his wife Anna in Vienna on 21 February 1957, and immigrated to Hamilton (New Zealand) in 1957. In later years he lived with his partner Joan Ryan (deceased). Sàndor passed away early Sunday morning, 11 August 2019, at Eventide Rest Home. He was the loving father of two sons and daughter-in-laws Alexander Stephen Magyar and Joanne Magyar (New Jersey USA), and Laszlo Magyar and Lyn Magyar (Sydney Australia), and the proud grandfather of Caitlin Magyar (Sydney Australia), and Kobe Magyar (Sydney Australia). The Family would like to invite you to a celebration of Sandy’s life to be held at The Hamilton Cosmopolitan Club, on Thursday 15th August, at 6.00pm.

On Monday, August 12, 2019, aged 80 years. Dearly loved husband and companion of Dorothy. Much loved Dad and best friend of Anita and Rob Armstrong (Otematata), Virginia and Tai Walker (Christchurch), Christopher and Janelle (Dunedin), Bernadette and Jason Edgecombe (Palmerston North), Hayden and Krystal Dry (Otematata). Adored and much loved grandad of Ryan, Charmaine, James, Quentin, Anaru, Lucas, Kaleb, Dominic, and Emily. Loved brother of the late Eugine Dry and Maryanne Urqhart (Ashburton). Special thanks to the staff at Heritage Lifecare (Highfield, Timaru) for the care, friendships, love and compassion to Bernard. Passed away peacefully on Friday 9th August 2019 at Annie Brydon Lifecare (Brydon Court), Hawera, 96 years young. Loved wife of Roy (deceased) and the late Bill Day. Treasured mother of Alan, Debbie, and the late Malcolm. Absolutely adored Grannie of Ronaele, and Ashlan. Loved sister of Mary Campbell and her 7 late siblings, Joseph, David, Rose, Alice, Lucy, Margaret, and Josie. Special Aunt Gert to all her nephews and nieces. Sincere thanks to all the staff at Annie Brydon Lifecare (Brydon Court) for your care and support over the past 2 years. After a full life of love and passion for her farm, gardens, horses and hunting, as per Gertie’s wishes she has Tally Ho-d and taken her final ride to God’s garden.

On Sunday, August 11, 2019, aged 69, in Sumner at Edith Cavell House, Tony passed away. A colourful character, Tony fought strong to the end. A much loved father of Amanda, Oliver and Adam, and respected father-in-law of Maggie and Fiona. Loved grandfather of Zachary, Jordan, Oskar, Lola, Jessica, Harry, Phoenix and Lazarus. Loving friend of Maryanne Jackson. Loved brother of John (dec), David, Susan, and brother-in-law of Val and Pam. Loved uncle of Andrew, Pru, Nicky, Richard, Fleur, Matthew, Hamish, and Donald. Dearly loved son of the late Eric and Edith Jackson. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Edith Cavell House for their kindness and loving support.
