On March 31, 2020, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital. Dearly loved wife of the late Vern. Loved mother of Vicki, and David Kerr, and mother-in-law of Alison, and loved Nana of James, Danny, and Meghan. McMILLAN, Grant Leslie

We have lost a much loved and treasured family member too soon.

Passed away peacefully at home with family at his side, aged 57 years. Devoted partner and soulmate of Francella. Adoring father and father-in-law of Kelli and Melanie, Taria and Jeronia, Jamie and Hemi, and Teina-John. Special Papa of Jaylah, Tailyn and Tehani. A wonderful brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

ANDREWS, Patricia Elizabeth Ruth (Pat)(nee Hazlewood)

Peacefully on 30 March 2020, at Te Omanga Hospice, aged 91 years. Partner of Colin McLeod and wife of the late Stan Andrews (deceased 1994). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Linda & Angus, Ray & Sue, Anne & Graham, Maureen & Grant, Barbara & Geoff, Malcolm & Leone. Nana, Grand-Nana and Great-Grand-Nana to many. In lieu of flowers, donations to Te Omanga Hospice would be appreciated and can be posted to PO Box 30-814, Lower Hutt 5040. Due to current restrictions a private interment will be held.


VAN DEN HEUVEL, Johannes Hendrikus (John)

Dutch Indonesian Forces, Reg. No. 261230026. On March 31, 2020, John, aged 93 years, peacefully passed away. Dearly loved husband of the late Colleen, much loved father and father-in-law of Maria and Brent, Johnny and Kaye, Rosina and Matt. Adored Poppy of Letitia and Brendan, Brittany and Phil, Brogan and Nick, Courtney, Olivia and Sam, Mac and Abby. Brother of Wim and the late Frans, Koosje, Gerrit and Lowie. Our heartfelt thanks for the love and care provided for John from Annaliese Haven Rest Home staff. Due to the current situation sadly there will be no rosary and interment. John Rhind will respectfully place John with his beloved Colleen at the Belfast Cemetery, our prayers are with him. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.

MARTIN, Colin Roy

Of Porirua passed peacefully on 31 March 2020, at Wellington Hospital, aged 73 years. Loving partner of Beverley. Loved husband of Brenda (d). Beloved Dad to Karen, Jacqui (David) and David (Gina), and Grandpop to Noah, Micah, Finn and Louis. Loved son of John and Daphne Martin, and brother of Jack (d), Bill (d), Bob, Daphne, Alec, Ian (d), Vel, Eric (d), Ray, Graham and Ngaire. A warm thank you to the staff at Wellington Hospital, Ward 6 East, who took exceptional care of Colin and his family during challenging circumstances. Tributes may be left in Colin’s tribute book at Given the restrictions in place a funeral will not be held. Colin will be cremated on Friday, 3 April, at Harbour City Crematorium, Kilbirnie, Wellington. Please light a candle to remember him. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.




On Sunday March 29, 2020 after a long illness in Noosa Queensland and wonderful support from Family and friends. Dearly loved wife of the late J.J. (John) Stewart. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Richard and Maureen (Denver USA), Cam and Clare (Noosa QLD), Terry (Denver USA), Chas and Vicky (Noosa QLD), and Sarah and Tim (Queenstown). Cherished sister of Janice (Wellington), Aylsa (deceased), and Terry (Taupo). Grandmother to 15 beautiful children. The family would like to thank all the carers at Carramar in Tewantin QLD for their outstanding care for Claire. Claire has had a life full of great accomplishments including Mayor of New Plymouth for 9 years and accomplished Russell Grace golfer. The family will miss her greatly but hold on to their wonderful memories of times with Claire. A private family service to be held in Noosa Thursday 2nd April. REGTL. No 649091, NZ Army, B Company Senzaki Japan. On Wednesday 1st April 2020, peacefully at Golden Pond Private Hospital, aged 95 years. Most dearly loved husband and best friend to Paula, forever yours. Much loved and cherished father and father-in-law to Megan and Wayne Aldridge (Whakatane), Nicola and Glenn Roberts (Cambridge). Very proud and loving Grandpa to Jessica, Ethan, Corbin, Aston and Hagan XXXXX. Very special brother to John, Helen and Peter, and the late Gwen, Neil, Nancy, Pat and Judy. Adored and treasured uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
It was an honour for me to be friends with some truly awesome people!!

BROWNLIE, Janet Margaret (Jan) (formerly Jan Spear)

On Monday, 30 March 2020, Jan passed peacefully. Devoted mother to Liz, Russell and Gareth. Adored Grandmother to Katana, Noah and Ruby and proud Great-Grandmother to Elise. Jan had long been affected by Huntington’s disease and after a stoic fight, she can now have a well-earned rest. Due to unprecedented circumstances, the family are unable to hold a funeral service to commemorate Tom’s life. We will come together to celebrate his life when circumstances allow.
