Panic buying is making life even more difficult for those who are struggling or vulnerable.

We can get through this, especially with a bit of neighbourly love!

Hi neighbours, some cafes are temporarily banning the use of reusable coffee cups - or 'keep cups' - because of the coronavirus.

Has your local stopped accepting reusable cups?

Can I help?

Hi, I am a mature student based in Stonefields and part way through a coach training program. As part of the course requirements I need to undertake practical case studies. I am looking for people who are considering changes in their lives and who would be prepared to work with me over 6-10 weeks.

Whilst I practice my coaching skills, you would benefit from working through some structured thinking about what the next steps are for the changes you might want to make.

Coaching can be on any topic of your choice such as a personal matter, the next stages of your life or a workplace situation.

In this challenging times with the COVID-19, and to avoid any unnecesary risks the sessions will be done online, through tools like skype, facetime or Zoom.

Sound like something you think could be beneficial? I would love to hear from you. Please ring Olatz on 021667963 or email me at olatzibanez@gmail.com

Morning Neighbours.
Due to the fear of bring infected I decided to cancel attending events and other group engagements for this week end. Some of the events were very important to me including ones I booked and paid for. So when I got up yesterday morning I found myself a bit lost on what to do... Quite funny really... But after a nice cup of home made coffee I went outside and started trimming some of the overgrown trees and fruit trees I have neglected for sometime. I built a small stool out of pallets. Painted a very confused art on an old forgotten canvas. Played my favourite online Pool game on line and then I actually washed my car something I haven't done for a long time as I always use car wash places. People walked past my house and smiled at me in exchange of good neighbourly gesture.... I also managed to take my camping gear out and air them, repaired a bit... And then to end my day I cooked a small meal for dinner.. Rejected invites to bbq with friends and then watch Documentary about our Oceans and the sad state they're in at the moment. Went to bed early then woke up very well rested about 5.40am and decided to post this to share what I did due to Corona Virus this week end so far. Today I am buying a couple of seasonal fruit trees to plant to commemorate Corona... I feel great and alive. What about you Good Neighbours?

Hi neighbours - my friends and I have run a free bootcamp (Froot Camp) in Auckland Domain for over three years and I wanted to invite you train with us.

In uncertain times, exercise can be so good for us - it supports both our mental health - and our immunity. Getting out of the house and into fresh air is good at the best of times - but right now, when many of us are housebound and working from home it’s almost necessary!

We naturally practice social distancing (as some of us are faster than others!), are non-contact and have asked all members to be conscious of their water bottle placement (and to use a unique water bottle) and not to spit. We're also asking anyone not to train until they're 100% back to normal.

We have a heap of fun and would love you to join us. Take a look at www.frootcamp.co.nz... - there's no catches. It's just...free.

PS - if you are currently self-isolating, please do the right thing and give it a few more days :)

Mayor Phil Goff today announced the temporary closure of libraries and a number of cultural institutions across the city.

The Museum’s Chief Executive Dr David Gaimster said “Auckland Museum is aligned with the Auckland Councils efforts to limit the transmission of the COVID -19 coronavirus. We will close our doors today at 5pm and will review our position regularly as new information from Health Officials comes to hand.”

“This was not an easy decision,” says Gaimster. “Auckland Museum has a role in the community to provide a sense of trust and continuity in times of uncertainty. However for the health and wellbeing for our visitors, our people and communities it has been necessary to make this difficult decision.”

The Museum will continue to operate behind the scenes undertaking the full range of its non-public facing activities such as caring for collections and taonga, research, digital and online initiatives, preparation of exhibitions and development of public programmes, planning and conservation.

Dr. Gaimster says while the Museum building is closed, it can still be visited online.

“Stay in touch with us at aucklandmuseum.com and we’ll keep you informed. Connect with us on our social media channels where we will bring you inspiring stories of our Museum, its collections and people,” he says.

“We don’t know yet when we will be able to re-open our doors, but we look forward to welcoming visitors back when we can,” says Dr. Gaimster.
