The SMC Pasifika Student and Parent Committee are proud to present their first ever Pasifika Roots Talanoa. This is a free event which will be held on Saturday 18 July in the St Mary’s College Cecilia Maher Hall here at 11 New Street, Ponsonby, Auckland.

The aim of the Talanoa is to provide support for young people to help them thrive at school and within their families and communities. There will be wonderful guest speakers including past pupils Lupesina Koro and Nele Kalolo, as well as food and entertainment.

As this is our first Talanoa, we are in need of a small amount of financial support to help us bring it all together. If you can help in any small way please email jsheehan@stmaryak.school.nz
We will also provide great recognition for your support both pre and post-event.

Did you walk across the Auckland Harbour Bridge when it first opened in 1959? Work on the construction of the clip-on lanes in 1969? Collect tolls from drivers until the bridge became free in 1984?

We’re researching stories for our Tāmaki Herenga Waka: Stories of Auckland exhibition opening next year and want to hear from anyone with early memories of the Auckland Harbour Bridge and how it changed life for Aucklanders, especially on the North Shore.

Email us at haveyoursay@aucklandmuseum.com if you have an interesting story you’d like to share.

With demand for homes strong and supply limited, we are hopeful the spring listing season will emerge early to satisfy the growing number of buyers standing in the market. Big hit numbers on the web are translating to large numbers viewing our open homes, which in some cases is resulting in brought forward auctions. No real surprise when you look at the cost to rent a property alongside the cost of ownership. At the entry level end of the market, the prospect of ownership for many first home buyers is particularly appealing. Whether or not this activity is a moment in time or the new normal – time will tell. In the meantime if you’re considering selling now maybe your moment.

Your business needs to stand out and customers need to easily remember you. This is where business brand becomes vital.

A business brand can be seen as a representation of the business owner or reflection of an owner’s values.

A brand is a gut instinct or intuition or an immediate feeling people have about a company product or service. It’s what your customers and staff members think about your business.

On a more practical sense successful branding can be seen within the business itself through consistent and repetitive use via it’s:

Website
Business Logo
Business Cards
Social Media
Apparel
Vehicle Signage

A great brand positions a business among competitors. For smaller businesses, if done correctly, great branding can create an even playing field so to compete with larger established ones.

Arguably, all else being equal, if your brand is professional you could charge for products and services in accordance with how good your brand LOOKS. (Did we say - all else being equal)

If you are looking for customers to engage with your business and keep them coming back, Digicol can help!

We do Branding and we are good at it

Starting with logo design we can assist by selecting illustrations, fonts, photos, colours and our graphic designer can create something unique to your business.

Hello Neighbours,

You may remember two weeks ago I (Manatu) posted on here about a rubbish run and asking if anyone had anything to take. The Saturday went really well, and we were able to complete pickups for everyone by 12pm.

We really enjoyed the organising, communication with each neighbour and particularly the opportunity to reuse, recycle or repurpose (filing cabinet to mention one) the items we took before we had to take the remainder of the rubbish to the tip.

Out of this, a business has been borne - Middlemen Removals. We are doing another rubbish run this Saturday 27 June 2020 to keep the momentum and show what we can do and are about. We have AFFORDABLE prices and WILL provide a punctual and reliable service. Refer to the prices attached.

Reach out if you have any unwanted items removed from your life: 02040763073 / middlemenremovals@gmail.com. I have also registered Middlemen on Neighbourly as a business.

Thanks and have a great rest of your week!
