About The Plaza Theatre

The Plaza offers all of the services required for an event, from catering and ticketing, to arranging advertising and equipment hire. We have stage lighting and sound gear available to hire, as well as data projectors and a full-size movie screen.

As The Plaza is run by a non-profit trust, we are able to keep our costs very reasonable. The hire charges for the facility start at just $60, and vary according to what areas you would like to hire, and what type of event you are staging. There are also concession rates available for non-profit groups and long-term bookings.

There are four main areas for hire:

The foyer offers a comfortable setting for small groups (seating
up to 50). It also has a full kitchen and bar/service area attached.
This area has been used successfully for everything from meetings
to artistic displays.

The Pavilion is a light and airy room comfortable for small conferences, workshops or gathering for up to 50 people seated.

The Auditorium accommodates a large stage and floor area (around 90 sq. metres each), with fixed rear seating for 320, retractable seating for 98 another 100 stand-alone chairs. The removeable seating is great for hosting dinners, concerts, films, displays and conferences.

The Arthur Fountain Studio offers a more intimate space, with a
kitchen, toilets and shower. It is often used for meetings and as a
"backstage" area, comfortably seating 40.
