So many options for this highly productive farm in two titles.
140Ha (115 effective, balance native) of King Country productive land. 15 Ha flat with the balance moderate to steep hill.
We have purchased another farm for future retirement and had intended to farm the two together for the next five or so years. However, the daily commute of 70 minutes each way is wearing us down, so have now decided to sell, so we can build on the new farm.
Below are a few of the many exciting possibilities:
1) Continue to farm in the current low input system that runs 1100 SU with no supplements fed. This only needs a few hours work a week, so could easily be managed while working full or part time.
2) Lease the farm to a neighbour and use the 3brm+office+2 bath modern home as a weekend retreat or Air BnB and take advantage of the many tourist attractions in the area.
3) Use the Government subsidies to plant the hills in exotic trees, manuka or native bush and claim carbon credits. These are forecast to rise sharply over the next few years, so this could be a lucrative option.
Some of the local Attractions and Amenities:
The central mountains are only 75 mins away for skiing and tramping.
The West Coast beach of Mokau, known for great fishing and whitebaiting is only 45 minutes away.
The “Timber Trail” and other bike trails are within 30- 45 minutes.
The “Forgotten World” and jet boating on the Whanganui river are 45 minutes away.
Hunting for deer, pigs, goats and turkeys are popular in the local district.
Hamilton and Taupo are 90 minutes with New Plymouth and Rotorua just two hours.
This property is currently in two titles and could possibly be split in two again, and could suit a multi person ownership investment.
